Dear Second Grade Spanish Parents,

We’re excited to (re)introduce ourselves as your Second Grade Spanish Room Parents! Our role is to help keep everyone connected. While teachers send their Friday newsletters with classroom updates and the school shares its newsletter every Wednesday, we’ll make sure you also hear about school events, PTCC news, and volunteer opportunities like Mystery Reader, the class art project for the GLOBE auction, and other classroom activities. We’ll also help coordinate class socials and create easy ways for parents to be not only involved, but truly engaged in our class community throughout the year.

Here’s some general information that may be helpful, especially for new parents:

III. Upcoming School Events:

• Sept 5 – GLOBE Games @ Silverbacks Park, 4:30pm: Third annual soccer showdown! All GLOBE families welcome – sign up here.
• Sept 10 – Lower Campus Ice Cream Social, 3:30–5pm: Cool off with a sweet treat after school. Ice cream truck will be there!
• Sept 12 – Annual Fund Challenge Ends: Even $1 counts toward participation – help our kiddos win the Popsicle Party! Donate here and see the flyer!

IV. Second Grade Spanish: Opt-in to Shared Class Directory
Please note that not all parents have granted permission via school enrollment forms to share their contact information. By school policy, Room Parents will use BCC for emails (provided to us by the GLOBE registrar’s office). To share your info with other Second Grade Spanish families, you can opt-in through this Google Form. Now that we’re in a new school year, we need to re-collect consent. We’ll send the directory link to class parents on Sept 15.

Important things to note:

1. Completing this form is NOT MANDATORY. You’ll still get updates from teachers, the PTCC, and Room Parents. However, your information won’t be shared with other families in the Second Grade Spanish track (e.g., for birthday invitations).
2. If you opt-in, your info will be added to a Google Sheet accessible to anyone with the link. This link will be sent to the email addresses provided to the Room Parents by the GLOBE registrar’s office
3. Room Parents cannot forward birthday invites or social gathering messages to the whole class. We may only share school-related activities open to the entire class. For birthdays, playdates, or other personal events, please use this Class Directory to contact families directly.
4. If you change your mind after completing the form and don’t want your info shared, email us at GlobeAcademySpanish2036@gmail.com, and we’ll remove your info within 72 hours.
